Instructions
Step 1
Fold the 18g wire around the mandrel at the desired size. Trim the ends even to each other, about 3/4" from the mandrel
Step 2
Holding tone end of the wire with pliers, aim the torch flame straight up the other end until it balls up. Quench in a bowl of water to cool. Repeat with the other end of the wire, and quench to cool.
Step 3
Use the abrasive pad to polish the wire. Then wrap it around the mandrel again at the desired size.
Step 4
Ball on end of the 20g wire using the torch. Quench to cool. String on the bead and push it to the balled end. Carefully holding the bead away from the flame, ball the second end of the 20g wire. When you quench the second end, ONLY dip the balled end into the water. If the bead has heated up, throwing it into cool water could cause it to crack.
Step 5
Wrap one end of the 20g wire twice around one end of the ring shank as shown. Then, keeping the bead between the two ring shank wires, wrap the other end of the 20g wire twice around the other side of the ring shank.
