This simple earring is a lot of style in a small package. These can be changed up by adding dangles, either symmetrical or non-symmetrical, or by changing the shape of the ear wire itself.

Instructions
Step 1
Flush cut both ends of two pieces of wire measuring 6 ½ inches each.

Step 2
Next create the shape shown in the photo by following these specifications.
With the end of the wire on your right, measure 1 ¼" left (west) and use pliers to create a right angle (1) facing down or south.
Measure 1" from this corner (1) and make another right angle (2) turning east.
Measure 7/8" from this angle (2) and create another corner (3) turning north. (This leg will cross the first leg and extend beyond it.)
Measure 1 1/2" from this angle (3) and create a corner turning west (4). (You should have 2 ¼" of wire left over - DO NOT CUT)

Step 3
Create a loop downward on the end of the wire where you started.

Step 4
Manipulate the piece so that angle 3 becomes smaller.

Step 5
Push the first leg (with the loop on it) down making angle 1 smaller.

Step 6
Bend the last leg down such that angle 4 becomes smaller. Adjust the wire into a pleasing shape as needed.

Step 7
Repeat steps 2-6 for the second earring. Gently hammer each earring on the bench block being careful not to flatten the wire too much on the part designed to go through the ear lobe.

Step 8
Using a 6" length of 24g wire, lash the seed beads onto the wire below the loop. Start by coiling a few times around the earring wire, add a seed bead to the wire, pushing it down to the base wire. Wrap the 24g wire once around the base wire and add another seed bead. Repeat until you've filled the base wire with seed beads.

Step 9
Alternatively, you could add dangles to the wires.The earrings can be worn with or without adding dangles. If using dangles, feed them onto the wire from the loop-less end. These may be easily exchanged for different dangles if desired.

Why not experiment with a more rounded shape for this type earrings? When I create this shape, I begin with the small loop and continue from that point. I have created a few of these and given or sold two different bead dangles with each pair. They are easy to change out.
