Using the 19g 3/16" rings make a 2-1-2-1-2 chain. To do this place 4 closed rings on an open ring, and close the ring. Divide the 4 rings into 2 sets of 2 and with an open ring go through 1 set of 2 rings, add 2 closed rings and close the ring.

Form this chain into a ring by taking an open ring and going through the 2 links at both ends of the chain, making sure not to twist the chain and close the ring.

Place this chain ring on a thin mandrel or chopstick. When the rings go on the mandrel the sets of 2 rings will be lying on top of each other, flip the top ring from each of these 3 sets over so they lie flat against the mandrel, these 3 flipped rings form the 3rd row of the round maille.

Each row in this round maille has 3 rings. To add the 4th row take an open ring and go through 2 rings that are next to each other in the 3rd row, go through both rings right at the point where they almost touch and close the ring. Add another ring in the same way going through the next point on the 3rd row where 2 rings meet. Add the 3rd ring by going through the last place where 2 rings meet.

To begin to add the triangular drop of the pendant, take an open 1/4" ring and go into a ring from the 3rd round maille row (counting from the left) and come out of the ring in the 5th round maille row, making sure not to go through the rings from the 4th row, and close the ring. Add another 1/4" ring in the same way, this time going into the ring from the 5th row and out of the ring in the 7th row. Add 2 more rings in the same way to make a row of 4 rings.

With an open 3/16" ring go up through the 2nd ring of the row just added and down through the 3rd, add 2 closed 1/4" rings and close the ring. Arrange the new large rings so they sit the same way as the rings directly above them.

With an open 3/16" ring go up through the first ring of the row of 4 large 1/4" rings, and down through the second ring, continue going down through the first of the 2 lower 1/4" rings and close the ring. Repeat this step on the other side to match.

Using the 20g silver wire place the fluorite bead onto the wire, make a hook in the end and flatten it with your pliers and check that the bead won't fall off. Make a wrapped loop at the top. Paint a small amount of liver of sulfur (LOS) on the wire and at the same time also paint the large 16g sterling silver ring. For this small amount I simply use 1 drop of the LOS gel with a couple of drops of tap water. Once the silver is the color I like I sprinkle on a little baking soda, add water and rinse the pieces. Allow to dry.

Place the wrapped loop on an open 3/16" ring and close the ring. With an open 3/16" ring go up through the bottom left hand 1/4" ring and down through the bottom right hand ring add the ring holding the wrapped fluorite bead and close the ring.

Thread your leather through the hollow part of the round maille tube where the mandrel has been. Cut the leather to size and glue the end caps over the leather. Attach a silver 1/8" jump ring to each end and attach the trigger clasp to one end.

Center the round maille tube on the leather, using the 26g stainless steel wire make a couple of wraps around the leather just under where one end of the chain maille is, now take the wire through each of the 3 end rings, going in then out, one at a time. Continue to wrap the wire around the leather for about 10 wraps with firm tension and keeping the wraps as neat as possible. Do the same with the other end. With your pliers make sure the end of the wire is as flat as possible against the leather. Place a tiny drop of glue on the end of the wire. This glue covers any sharp edges, so it won't catch on anything.
