Instructions
Step 1
Begin with the 20g wire, make sure it is straight with no kinks and flush cut both ends. Using round-nose pliers, make a loop in the middle of the wire. Place the loop next to the mandrel and wrap both wires around the mandrel. Then wrap both wires once again around the mandrel, spacing the wraps evenly.

Step 2
Working with the wire on the left, place the round nose pliers next to the wire on the mandrel with the mandrel between the jaws of the pliers. Wrap the wire once around the bottom jaw of the pliers then start to wrap the wire around the mandrel as before. Shape the loop you have just made so you are happy with the size and shape and how it sits in relation to the original loop. Continue wrapping this end of the wire around the mandrel spacing the loops for the look you want. Wrap firmly but not too tightly as you need to be able to slide the wire shape off the mandrel. You may need to use pliers to round the last part of the wire around the mandrel.

Step 3
On the right hand side I did another wrap around the mandrel then placed the round nose pliers at the edge of the wire with the mandrel inside the jaws. Wrap the wire around the bottom jaw of the pliers then begin to wrap the wire around the mandrel. Adjust the shape and size of the loop and then wrap the rest of the wire around the mandrel paying attention to the spacing of the wraps. As before you may need to use pliers to form the end of the wire to the mandrel.

Step 4
Remove the wire shape from the mandrel. At this point I tumble my shape to make sure it is hard. If you don't have a tumbler you can lightly hammer the shape with a plastic mallet while it is still on the mandrel. To attach it to the leather, you can thread the leather through the wire but it is much easier to start in the middle and wrap the leather around the wire. Each time you wrap the leather around the wire it slides into place inside one of the wire loops. With the leather inside the wire shape it is now well supported and it is easy to shape the wire into a nice curve to match your wrist shape.

Step 5
Bend the bracelet into shape and cut the leather to the size you need taking into account the length of your clasp. Fit the leather into the clasp to check that everything fits properly. Then glue the leather ends inside the clasp ends.

Step 6
Place a gemstone on the 28g wire about 1" from the end. Bend both wires up towards the top of the stone, cross them at the top of the stone and where they meet straighten the wires so the 2 ends sit together. Bend both wires to make a 90 degree angle, place your round nose pliers at the top of the bend and wrap both wires around in a loop. Secure the loop by wrapping the 2 wires around the wires below the loop and onto the stone, alternating each until the tail of the short end runs out. Wrap firmly and keep the tension on the wire as you go. Continue to wrap around the stone until the wires coming from the hole are covered. Trim the ends and reshape the loop on the round nose pliers if needed. To attach the gems to the vine shape, thread them onto the end of the shape and gently move them along until they slot into their loop.
