Instructions
Step 1
Using the 400 grit sandpaper, clean the wire and the tubing. Wrap the wire around the 9.1 mm dapping punch mandrel four times and remove. Using flush cutters, cut the coil to make 3 jump rings.

Condition the rings by pushing the ends away from one another. Make sure the ends fit together perfectly; file as necessary using a flat file from the needle file set.

Step 3
Measure 3/8” on the copper tubing; cut using the jewelers saw with a metal blade or a tubing cutter. If you are using a jewelers saw, rest the tubing on a bench pin for support while sawing.

Step 5
When the pieces are cool, place them in the pickle solution to remove the fire scale. Remove and wash with soap and water using a brass brush to remove the residual fire scale.
Pro Tip: Sliding the beads onto a piece of scrap wire works great for holding them while brass brushing.

Step 6
Position the 9.1 mm dapping punch in the bench vise. Use a piece of electrical or painters tape to hold the tubing and three jump rings in place on the dapping punch. Place the 8.3 mm dapping punch on the tubing, and tap lightly using the chasing hammer until the tubing begins to flare.

Step 8
Now that you have made your first Spinner Bead, you can simply suspend it from a leather cord for single display. I decided to make a few and intersperse
them with sand cast glass beads and thread them on a piece of 12-gauge copper wire.
